This study was intended to analyze the characteristics of the standards for, and directions of evaluation specified in the moral education curriculum and explore the direction of evaluation of the new moral education curriculum through the foregoing. In order to analyze the characteristics of evaluation in the existing moral education curriculum, the evaluation methods and precautions in the curriculums ranging from the 3rd curriculum to the 2009 revised curriculum were reviewed, and based on the large flow of the direction of evaluation of the existing moral education curriculum, the 2015 revised moral education curriculum was reviewed separately for ① the form of composition of the integrated evaluation, ② the composition of the relationship between core competency and functions in the curriculum, and ③ the characteristics of evaluation methods and precautions according to the representative achievement standards presented by area.
Based on the results of the analysis as such, the research tasks for the direction of evaluation of the new moral education curriculum were proposed as ① preparing a balanced standard for achievement standard learning verbs, ② preparing evaluation components for core curriculum competencies and strengthening the linkage with functions, and ③ studies on evaluation standards and developing tools for curriculum-based evaluation, It is hoped that this paper will be a meaningful paper for setting evaluation standards and directions when the moral education curriculum is revised later.
