Global Citizenship Education(GCED) is aimed to nurture citizens who can solve the 21st century's various and complex global issues with responsibilities. In order to apply GCED to school, it is necessary to pay attention to the nature of art education. Art education focuses on human culture and lives in complex ways, helps students visualize through art activities and plays an essential role in developing creative thinking abilities to solve problems. The purpose of this study was to investigate the ways to implement GCED in art education. For this, the relationship and the connections of UNESCO’s GCED with the core competencies of 2015 revised National Art Curriculum, a guideline matrix and two instructional plans were investigated and suggested. The result of this study would be the basis of constructing application models for GCED in art education and reminding the importance of art education for implementing GCED.
