The present study examines the influence of adolescents" digital media usage on their psychological adaptation, specifically regarding life satisfaction and aggression. Additionally, the study examines whether the digital literacy education experience at school and parental media mediation have significant moderating effects on this relationship. To achieve this objective, data from the "Adolescent Media Use Survey" conducted in 2020 targeting adolescents in grades 4-6 of elementary schools nationwide, along with their parents, were analyzed. The dataset included responses from 2,454 pairs of students and guardians. The analysis revealed several key findings. First, adolescents" digital media usage negatively influenced their life satisfaction and positively influenced their aggression. Second, the adverse effects of digital media usage on life satisfaction and aggression were mitigated by the presence of digital literacy education experiences in school. Third, parental media mediation did not demonstrate a significant moderating effect on the relationship between adolescents" digital media usage and psychological adaptation. Based on these results, this study provides policy and practical implications regarding the necessity of digital media usage and digital literacy education for adolescents.
