This study aimed to empirically verify the mediating effect of professionalism among childcare center principal on the relationship between job stress and their intention to leave the job. The study surveyed 252 Childcare Center Directors working in Seoul and Gyeonggi province and analyzed the data using the SPSS 21.0 program. The results of this study were as follows. First, the relationship between job stress, intention to leave, and professionalism among Childcare Centers Directors was found to be significant. Secondly, job stress was found to be a significant factor affecting the intention to leave among Childcare Center Directors, and professionalism mediated this relationship, explaining the intention to leave the job. Through these study results, the mediating effect of professionalism on the relationship between job stress and intention to leave among childcare center directors was explored, and fundamental data was provided for increasing professionalism to alleviate job stress among directors who are responsible for the quality of childcare services.
