The purpose of this study was to investigate the response of the cardiorespiratory system of Anti-Hypertentives supplements and to examine the effect of Anti-Hypertentives on exhaustion time. The subjects who selected for experiment were composed of 40 hypertension patients who took drugs (Calcium entry blocker, Diuretic, Beta blocker and Alpha blocker) once a day. They exercised under 60% exercise intensity of their maximum HR and SBP 220mmHg before and after the drugs supplement. Cardiorespiratory variables(VE, VO_2, RER, HR) were measured and analyzed during the experiment by an automated gas analyzer. The results are summarized as follows: 1. VE showed significant decrease from before exercise to recovery 10 minutes after the drugs supplement. The group which included medicated Diuretic, Beta blocker, and Alpha blocker were observed to have a significant decrease before, during and after protracted exercise. But calcium entry blocker group showed no difference. 2. There was only significant decrease of VO_2 in the beta blocker group. The other groups were not observed to have any significant decrease. 3. RER was observed to have a significant decrease in the Diuretic, Beta blocker, and Alpha blocker groups. But the Calcium entry blocker group observed an increase. 4. HR was not observed to have a significant decrease in all groups. Anti-Hypertentives were not an influenced on the HR of hypertension patients who were running at 60% exercise intensity of their maxium HR.
