The purpose of this study is to develop a happiness enhancement program for early childhood teachers based on the character strengths proposed by Seligman. To collect data, a focus group interview was conducted based on a survey of the perceptions and needs of early childhood teachers and a study on the relationship between character strengths and happiness. Following a suitability review by experts and a pilot study, a proposed draft of the program was modified and enhanced to produce the final version. The happiness enhancement program that was developed in this study consists of three stages: introduction, actual implementation, and wrapping up. It is delivered in 13 sessions of approximately 120 minutes each. This program involves recognition and utilization of signature strengths and contains content about optimism, gratitude, forgiveness, kindness and love, five strengths that contribute to happiness. This program doesn’t focus on early childhood teachers’ weaknesses or problems but their strengths so that they can experience positive emotion, find meanings and values on their jobs and be provided positive motivation participating in this program, which is the significant meaning of this program.
