The objective of this study is to examine the operations and achievements of the Communication Clinic Center at Chung-Ang University and suggest the direction it might take in the future. The Communication Clinic Center of Chung-Ang University has operated since 2014. The Center performs consultations on writing as well as speaking. Therefore, this study tries to determine a method of linking the Communication Clinic Center to a 〈writing〉 subject and a 〈speaking-related〉 subject at the university. In addition, by sharing the center’s accumulated achievements, this study tries to provide basic data on the operation of non-subject programs.
The role of a communication clinic center at a university is very important for students as well as the university. However, this kind of project is usually connected to government projects, and therefore the very existence of a center generally depends on government funding. In this vein, it is necessary to operate a center as an independent project through efforts by and around a university and in cooperation with the university’s budget. In addition, through developing novel and truly essential programs for students, it is necessary to connect a communication subject with a writing center, thus conducting a liberal arts education for students continuously.
