The purpose of this study was to investigate trends concerning teacher professionalism in the field of early childhood education and child-care in Korean journals during the 2009 to 2018 period. The subjects of the study were 133 articles in domestic journals. The results of the study are as follows. First, according to the analysis of the study period, research on teacher professionalism increased rapidly from 2013. The most research on this topic during the study period was done in 2018. Second, according to the analysis of the study subjects, research related to professionalism of the child-care teachers was predominant. These are the comprehensive approaches to the professionalism of early childhood teachers. Third, according to the analysis of the study methods, quantitative research was conducted most actively to reveal the correlation, influence, and relationship of the variables related to teacher professionalism Finally, according to research contents, research of identifying the variables related to teacher professionalism was carried out the most, followed by research on professionalism enhancing measure, research on recognition of professionalism, and theoretical review. This study is meaningful in examining research on teacher professionalism in the field of early childhood education and care and in suggesting a new direction for future research.
