Recently, the world has been greatly affected by climate change. Accordingly, education related to climate change and environmental change, as well as action competence for climate change diagnosis and resolution efforts are necessary. Therefore, this study examines the concept and definition of action competence for climate change proposed in the field of environmental education so far, and examines factors related to the ability to prepare for and respond to climate change. And, by deriving factors applicable to college students majoring in tourism, this study tried to analyze the relationship between the ability to respond to climate change and hope in solving climate change problems of college students majoring in tourism. In addition, the moderating role according to the presence or absence of education experience related to climate change was also examined. Looking at the results of the study, it was found that action competence for climate change (knowledge about climate change, reflection of climate change, willingness) of college students majoring in tourism had a significant positive (+) effect on the hope of solving climate change problems. In addition, in the relationship between action competence for climate change and hope in solving climate change problems, there was a difference between groups in the presence or absence of climate-related education experience, and it was found that there was a moderating effect. The academic and practical implications of these research results are presented.
