Yongming Yanshou(904~975) wrote a book titled Simbu, which expressed his thoughts and then left Jusimbu to interpret it. This text suggested that Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism vs Zen and Doctrine were unified by the concept of only one mind. The earliest existing Jusimbu is a woodblock edition of the Song Dynasty in 1160, with the fourth volume exclusively preserved in the Beijing Library in China
In Korea, a Song Dynasty copy from 1160 was reprinted in Bunsadaejangdogam in 1254, which made letter-carved woodblocks. While the 1254 version of Bunsadaejangdogam no longer exists, a complete edition from 1397 is kept at the Korea University Library. This edition, which contained a postface, was issued by Master Muhak. It suggests that Muhak created this edition at Hoeamsa Temple in Yangju, where he served as Wangsa and produced numerous Buddhist texts.
During the reign of King Sejong in the Joseon Dynasty, the Buddhist community underwent a restructuring into the organization of Zen-Doctrinal Dual Buddhism(禪敎兩宗). Nevertheless, it was eliminated in the 16th century under the rule of King Myeongjong. That is why the Buddhist community moved towards Zen-Doctrinal Buddhism Congruity(禪敎一致) ideologically. Kuroda Ryoa(黑田亮) referred to a version of Jusimbu printed in 1573. The Dongsan Library at Keimyung University now has a copy of Jusimbu without a publication date, which seems to be the 1573 edition noted by Kuroda. If it is true, it suggests that Jusimbu was reissued in line with the prevailing trends of Zen-Doctrinal Buddhism Congruity. It indicates that Jusimbu may have made an ideological contribution to the Buddhist community. As such, The Buddhist community was shifting towards Zen-Doctrinal Buddhism Congruity following the state"s dissolution of the Zen-Doctrinal Dual Buddhism organization. Therefore, it is believed that many Buddhist monks" writings published during that period would reference many more words from Jusimbu.
