The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of obesity management exercise on body composition, wellness and happiness index of middle-aged women. Complex exercise was performed for 12 weeks at an obesity center within the public health center. The subjects of this study were 31 middle-aged obese women with more than 30 % body fat rates residing in S district in D province. In this program, the complex exercise included aerobic exercise paired with muscular exercise was performed three times a week for 120 minutes. The conclusions were drawn utilizing paired sample t- tests based on prior and post examinations. First, weight and body fat rates were reduced after participating in the complex exercise program. Second, among the 5 index factors of wellness, 3 factors were improved after participating in the complex exercise program; physical, mental and intellectual health. Third, the index of happiness was improved, as well. Therefore, these results imply that complex exercise paired with regular, sustainable aerobic exercise and muscular exercise should be performed by middle-aged obese women; so that their feeling of happiness can be enhanced through a healthy life with a positive change towards body adjustment, wellness and their index of happiness.
