The purpose of this study is to find out how art activities using digital images affect the creativity and spatial awareness of children as the ability to read and utilize digital images becomes necessary in everyday life due to the development of visual culture. To this end, a total of 30 experimental studies were conducted on 30 5-year-olds, divided into 15 experimental group and 15 comparison group, for 10 weeks, and the experimental group carried out art activities using digital images, while the comparison group conducted art activities based on the Nuri Curriculum. To measure creativity and spacial perception, pre- and post-tests were implemented, and analysis of covariance was performed using SPSS 20.0 to analyze its effectiveness. As a result, the experimental and comparison groups showed significant differences, and the art activities using digital images had a positive effect on creativity and spatial perception abilities of children. This implicates that exploring surrounding aesthetic elements freely and art expression and appreciation activities in an infinite virtual space foster creative thinking and expand limited playing spaces, suggesting possibility of active use in the field of early childhood education as an art education medium.
