The aims of the present study were to investigate the causal relationship of between Childcare Teacher’s Ego-resilience, Job stress, Social Support and Subjective Well-bing.
The participants in this study were 530 Childcare teachers working in daycare centers all over the country. The subjects for this study completed questionnaires assessing Childcare teacher’s subjective well-being, ego-resilience, jobstress, and social support. Statistical methods for the data analysis were the SPSS 19.0, AMOS 20.0 And the maximum likelihood estimation method was used to model fit. Goodness of fit was evaluated using the SRMR, RMSEA and its 90% confidence interval, CFI, and TLI.
The major findings were as follows. First, ego-resilience was found to affect childcare teacher’s subjective well-being directly. The fact that ego-resilience affects subjective well-being directly means the higher ego-resilience of childcare teachers is, the higher subjective well-being is. Second, job stress was found to affect childcare teacher’s subjective well-being directly. The fact job stress affects subjective well-being directly means the higher job stress of childcare teachers is, the lower subjective well-being is. Third, ego- resilience was found to affect childcare teacher’s job stress directly. The fact that the ego resilience affects job stress directly means the higher ego-resilience of childcare teachers is, the lower job stress is. Fourth, social support was found to affect childcare teacher’s job stress directly. The fact that the social support affects job stress directly means the higher social support of childcare teachers is, the lower job stress is. Fifth, social support was found to affect ego-resilience directly. The fact that the social support affects ego-resilience directly means the higher social support of childcare teachers is, the higher ego-resilience is.
This study is theoretically meaningful in that is shows that high ego-resilience, social support, and low job stress can be the main factors that can increase the effectiveness of childcare teacher’s subjective well-being.
