Today, convergence is taking place in various fields of culture and society, including art, education, and academic fields, as well as industry and technology. This expansion of convergence and social interest seem to be emphasized in education, and the paradigm is transformed in a different context from understanding-oriented education in the academic field, such as convergence of studies and areas and strengthening competencies. In addition, for convergence education, which deals with the power of art that qualitatively enrich human life from an interdisciplinary perspective, the curriculum must be further developed in terms of subject education to explore art-centered convergence education, and an overall review of the current convergence education is needed. In particular, further exploration of theory and design for the realization of specific art and curriculum should be conducted. To this end, first, convergence education and its method from a theoretical perspective are examined. Second, the nature and significance of art-centered convergence education are sought in terms of art and philosophy. Third, we examine the design and principles in terms of methods for art-centered convergence education and discuss the direction. There is the significance of art-oriented convergence education as an aesthetic education through art, the awareness of oneself coexisting with others in the community, the discovery through art as a visual image. Based on the practice of linking to life in class, it is possible to examine the structure, principle, method, and direction of convergence education from the perspective of art education, and basic research to explore the characteristics, principles, and structures of art education as convergence education is continuously needed.
