The purpose of this study is to examine the associations of early childhood preservice teacher’s happiness and creativity with their social problem-solving ability. A total of 450 preservice teachers in the department of early childhood education from six three-year colleges and three four-year universities located in Busan metropolitan city in South Korea completes a survey. Multiple regression was conducted with subscalesof happiness and creativity of preservice early childhood teacher as an independent variable and social problem-solving ability as a dependent variable. We found significant positive correlations among happiness, creativity and social problem-solving ability of preservice early childhood teachers. Happiness and creativity of preservice early childhood teacher were a significant predictors of their social problem-solving ability. Therefore, this study highlights the importance of early childhood preservice teachers’ happiness and creativity for their social problem-solving ability and offers implications for the needs of program designed to enhance their social problem-solving ability in the early childhood teacher preparation program.
